Dallas to Frankfurt

Italy is my magnet.
- Lord Byron

After several changes in schedule and routing, our much-anticipated trip to Italy and France finally was at hand! Barry spent the morning at the office, and we left for the airport about 1 pm. Margie dropped us off at the gate about 1:30pm. Our flight to Frankfurt was on schedule, so we had only 15 minutes to explore the Admirals Club at DFW airport. It was rather disappointing - a few chairs, coffee, and some private telephones, but not much else. We were one of the first to board the plane, and we settled in quickly.

Business Class is nice. The seats are big and comfy, and the service is attentive. We began our airplane "feast" with prosciutto roulade with basil filling followed by a green salad. The Riesling wine was good. We both had Miso-marinated salmon for our main course with a raspberry sorbet sundae for dessert. Flora watched "In and Out" on her personal video player, while Barry watched "A Life Less Ordinary." Being only three days before the summer solstice, it never got totally dark out the right side windows of the aircraft, and it never got dark at all out the left side windows. Time seemed to fly by - no pun intended - and we landed exactly on schedule at 7:55 am.
