"Voyage of the Glaciers"
July 23-30, 2001
There were numerous entertainment options on the Sun Princess. There were three large production shows, and two of them were excellent. Words and Music is Broadway-related and Rhythms of the City showcases music with an urban feel. The choreography was wonderful. The third one, C'est Magnifique, a French-inspired production, was just so-so. Canadian comedian/magician Jean Boucher was very funny also. Princess brought him on the ship for one night only, as we saw him board the ship in Ketchikan and get off the next day in Juneau. There was other theater entertainment that we did not have time to see. Both theaters run several shows a night with some shows running for two nights in a row, so it is easy to see a show pretty much whenever you want.
We particularly enjoyed the piano music and singing of Roger
Carr, who performed nightly in the Atrium Lounge. He is new to
the Sun, having spent the last three years on the Grand Princess.
He is leaving Princess this fall for NCL where he will be given
the larger venue that he rightly deserves. We also enjoyed Tom
Scheeler on the piano and the guitar music of Jeff Gunn in the
Rendez-Vous Wine Bar.
