"Voyage of the Glaciers"
July 23-30, 2001
Our morning flight from Dallas to Vancouver was on time and uneventful. We arranged our own airfare with four of us flying on paid tickets and four of us traveling on frequent flyer miles. We waited about ten minutes for the bus that transported us from the airport to Canada Place, a drive of about 30 minutes. Embarkation was a breeze. There were no lines, and the process took about three minutes. Our embarkation photo was taken, and we were onboard before 1pm. There is a little bit of chaos upon boarding the ship though, as you are not escorted to your room but are left to board the elevators and fend for yourself in finding your cabin.
** Helpful hint: We have found that making travel arrangements
separate from the cruise is advisable. It provides more flexibility
in airlines and flight times, the ability to use frequent flyer
miles in preference to paid tickets, and direct routing rather
than connections. To boot, these benefits are often accompanied
by lower fares!
